HAZEL NICHOLLS - PRINTS

IMG_0714.jpg

Adoption Trauma Conference 2020 - I spoke about how art is part of my identity and the meaning of my 'Identity' print.

Each part of the print symbolises aspects of my personality and history represented as a Hazel tree (family tree and the tree of life), a wolf (power, intuition and trust) and an owl (vision and wisdom). These are values and characteristics I aspire to.

I overlayed the print with a golden tree outline linking the portrait to Japanese Kinsuki pottery which is broken and mended with gold.

Our brokenness is part of our identity and part of our beauty. Our scars become part of who we are and become beautiful as they enable us to have empathy.

Beauty is more than skin deep!
