HAZEL NICHOLLS - CONTEMPORARY
![]() Leah Durner Inspired Paintings | ![]() This was my final piece for my Illustration project featuring the inspiring life of suffragette Emily Davidson for the second time. The collage idea and layout was inspired by Martin O'Neil's work. The collage is made up using a range of printed and drawn resources associated with the lives of woman in the suffragette movement. They used their voice. | ![]() |

![]() This study is made up of of lino prints inspired by Paul Klee. I then decided to distort the lino prints and stick them randomly around a distorted drawing of Emily Davidson's face who was a suffragette. This was to replicate what lives were like for women in the suffragette movement. They are hidden in past history, but they need to be remembered. Their sacrifices and voice changed history. |
