BIOGRAPHY- HAZEL NICHOLLS

Hazel is a contemporary artist based in the SE England and completing a BA in Fine Art at Falmouth University. Her real passion is impressionism combined with expressionism, however she is exploring textiles and stitching as well as painting 

 

She also enjoys creating with printing (especially drypoint printing), digital media and pastels. Hazel will often combine these different types of media in her art, some of Hazel's work is also linked to her poetry which is influenced by family walks in the Sussex countryside soaked in music. 

 

Artists who have influenced Hazel's work are Monet, James Bartholomew, Anselm Kiefer, Marc Chagall, David Hockney, Franz Marc, Jenny Saville and Ron Hicks to name a few.

 

Hazel's work combines her great loves of the natural world, conservation and the protection of wildlife. She has exhibited and given presentations at many galleries in support of specific environmental issues.  

As well as a loving and supportive family, Hazel is grateful for her loving and supportive companionship of, Ebony, her Sprocker Spaniel.
